dvd video out....

is there a video card w/ a tv out that can play dvds out to the tv simoutaneously? if not how can i do this? i cant seem to do this w/ my no name geforce2 mx 400 64 meg...

Only a decoder card, such as the Hollywood Plus or the CT 7160 can do the things you want. It's not the graphics card.

The alternative would be a scan converter, hooked between your computer and the TV set.

ANY ATI card that has TV-out can display the same thing on the monitor and TV at the same time. Of course the display on your monitor will be the same 800x600 at 60Hz that is on your TV, so that may or may not work for you. DVD's are 720x480, BTW.

Actually it is the graphics card and software. MMC 7.5 which was released with the AIW Radeon 8500dv allows video overlay on the secondary monitor which enables you to watch DVD's on your TV seperate from your Primary Workspace in Win9x and WinXP (I believe NT and Win2k will not support this configuration). I'm assuming this will work with any of the cards that support hydravision, I know it works on the Radeon 8500 from posts I read on Rage3d.
