I just bought an Apex 500W dvd player last night. Here is my situation. My tv only has one coaxial connection. No RCA inputs or outputs. I currently have my Apex player hooked up through my VCR which has RCA inputs. Of course the macrovision crap takes over from here and screws it up. I also have my cable connected through my VCR.

What is the cheapest solution to getting all of this hooked up. Is there a converter that will go from RCA video(or S-video) to coaxial? That way I could just get a combiner for my VCR output(coaxial) and my DVD output(converted to coaxial). I would then hook up my DVD sound output through my stereo.

I thought you could turn of Macrovision with the Apex dvd players? There's a setup menu or something i thought?

There is no hidden menu on the 500W. I can get someone to flash a different Eprom but I don't really want to go through that trouble right off the bat. I can look for someone to do that when college is back in session.

get an r/f switcher from radio shack. It's like $5-10.

Picture will still be crappy but not as bad as w/ macrovision.

Could you be a little more descriptive, ie. what type of inputs it takes and what type of outputs it has???

Thanks,

Jim
