DVD USB&Firewire enclosure: works with USB, doesn't with Firewire...

Hello,

I got this DVD Firewire enclosure:

and this firewire card:

CHP FIREWIRE IEEE 1394 CONTROLLER CARD 3 port

use Windows 2000 , it detects firewire card just fine ...

but whenever I plug my external dvd to it, nothing happens 🙁

though when I plug it in USB, it works just fine ...

and I can't identify if it's a card problem, b/c don't have any other firewire devices 🙁

any help would be appreciated 🙂

I am having the same exact problem with my adstech pyro firewire card and enclosure combo. Only difference is taht there is no usb connection to test it with. But when I plug the firewire in, nothing happens. I am running xp.
 
I have the same enclosure (although I paid $10 more for mine) and I do not have that problem with my VIA based cheapie Iwill Firewire card in XP. In fact, I've have never even tried the USB port.

So no help from me, but a bump for your thread.
