Hi.

I have a HP Pavilion 7850 system thatg my cousin purchased. He wants to put a dvd drive in so he can watch dvd's on his pc.
Specs are as follows: 933 mhz, 384 mb ram, intel direct 3d agp graphics card

Question:
Will just a dvd drive be able to play dvd's with that video card, or should i upgrade it?
Which dvd drive should i get?
What software should i use to play dvd?

Thanks for your help!

Wrong place to post this type of question... anyway, buying only the DVD drive will allow your cousin to watch DVDs on his PC. He will have to use software decoding however but these days its pretty good. I'm assuming that the Intel "video card" is the onboard adapter and you will not most likely not need to upgrade it because most of the processing is done by the CPU (if this is wrong someone correct me). I would use PowerDVD as the DVD software.
