Basically, I wasn't paying attention forgot to close my dvd drive and then i went to get out of my computer chair, when I turned to get out I guess the chair hit against the open DVD tray and knocked it off. Nothing broke though, but when I go to put my dvd tray back on, it slides on the tracks fine, but it won't close! When I press it to close I guess the mechanism that comes up to read the dvd/cd's is blocking the cd tray from closing all the way. Any suggestions on how to get the tray back in correctly? Thanks!

You might have broken something inside.

DVD drives are definitely be disassembled. You usually have to unlatch the front panel so that you can remove the top or bottom metal cover. Once inside, look for cracked parts or pieces of plastic floating inside. To get beyond a PCB board on top, you'll have to disconnect a couple of tiny ribbon connectors.

If nothing else, once it's opened, you can see why it's not closing.
