DVD tends to skip...

Hey all,

When I run WinDVD 5, some of the DVDs (random), tend to have trouble between the end of one frame (or scene). It stutters at the end of the frame, and then instantly moves to the next one. Anyone had similar problems with WinDVD? I'm using an R9700 Pro. I moved from a Pioneer DVD-113 (6X) to a Toshiba 12X, and it improved quite a bit..but some discs still show the problem. I'm also tempted to buy a 16X Toshiba or Plextor. Any thoughts guys? 😕

are always the same ded's having problems or one time this one, the next time another one?

EDIT my old man is sitting on a p3-550 with voodoo3 and a creative dvd 6x and he has no problems at all (power dvd 4.0). if those damn thingys even work on his lame-ass comp they surely should fly on your rig... weird...

is there a cache option in windvd? increasing cache oprion might work. or maybe there are some options enabled that slow down the thingy (like supper-effects 23 or something)

I was using a trial of PowerDVD and noticed the problem go away. With WinDVD, the problem is all but gone. Maybe there's a video effect I should enable or disable...😕

I still get this darn skipping with WinDVD. There's got to be a fix...anyone else having this problem?

[Never mind, fixed the problem. Thanks for the advice guys!]
