DVD sound loss in W2000, why?

I have the Creative Encore set (Dxr3 card) and it works superb with dvd movies in win 98SE. Now, win2000 can play audioCD's no prob, but sound on DVD no go. What is up with that?

Solved, 4point surround doesn't work apparently.
