DVD software Decoders

Much Like mOoGotMilk, I am a bit angree that I have to pay for more software to get my DVD working. Howver, because I have to pay for it, I would like good software a reasonable price. Which DVD software do you recommend, how much does it cost, and why do you like it?

PowerDVD is meant to be pretty good. I don't know if it is the best but it is what all of my friends are using.....I did have a DVD and I used that until it died 🙁

The two that most people use and have resonable quality and cpu usage are WinDVD and PowerDVD. I think they are pretty comparable, but you will find some people swear by one and some the other.

WinDVD costs 29.95 for the 2 channel version from the intervideo site.
As mentioned in the other thread by LuNoTiCK, you can get the OEM PowerDVD for 5 dollars + shipping.

Mapidus, please send me the link to the thread or repeat where I can get the OEM software. I tried a search and it said there were no post for that "Author"!!!

Thanx

Musicman6425, if you go to pricewatch.com and search for powerdvd, you'll find one priced at $5. But for OEM software, you'll have to purchase a piece of hardware.

WinDvD has better picture quality on the videocards i've seen it on, plus you can minimize the picture when in fullscreen mode. You cant with PowerDVD which is very annoying.
