DVD Shrink in Windows XP under VMWare doesn't make ISOs

The way I rip DVDs in Parallels worked fine. It would make a ISO on my Mac hard drive through the network.

With VmWare it makes I00 - I05 and a mdf file. I'm assuming it somehow thinks it is a fat 32 drive.

This is when I rip a DVD to my OS X side. I run DVD shrink under Parallels and the ISO is saved on the Mac side. Under VMWare it doesn't work :-/

Any ideas?

The virtual hard drive is probably formatted in FAT32. That happened to me on my Windows desktop when I was saving to a FAT32 drive. This is because of the 4GB file size limit in FAT32. The mdf file (spanned image) can be opened, mounted, and burned in Alcohol 120%. Converting to NTFS will allow you to rip ISOs. This link provides details on how to accomplish this.

Nope, you're not understanding what I'm saying.

I'm ripping a DVD in Windows XP under VMware but the final location is on my Mac Partition. So it's basically sending the file over from Windows XP to OS X.

In Parallels it worked, VMware splits the file up for some reason.

If I rip the DVD in Windows XP in VMware and keep the file in Windows XP it makes a ISO of the file.
