DVD Shrink & 8x DVD

I have a 4X burner and DVD Shrink (and Platinum plus for that matter ) both reject the 8X media even at 2x burn speed. Any thoughts appreciated - I have a 50 stack of potential coasters

Thanks, John in Miami

so you use dvdshrink for burning? why? it's a great piece of software, but the last thing I'd ever use it for would be recording discs. Get a real DVD recording application, like Nero!

The other consideration is always burn at the slowest speed allowed. Yes this takes longer and defeats the purpose of having a fast burner. But I have found I always get better quality burns at a lower speed.

I burn at 12x and they are fine. If it's messing up at higher speeds that would suck and i don't think i want to wait 30min when it only takes 6

Maybe you should update your firmware...newer firmware have new media info and it might take the media better ... some 3rd party firmware allow you to burn faster than media specs...

good luck

It has nothing to do with DVD Shrink... DVD Shrink is not a burner program... It burns only with Nero and Decrypter. Check other burning software to determine if it a software or a harware problem
