DVD+/-RW speeds

I've just purchased an LG 4040 and I am just waiting for delivery, I was wondering how long it would take to burn a complete 4.7GB at 4x? I read somewhere that backing up a complete movie would take about 3 hours! Is that true?

It'll take 15mins give or take a few and if you verify the write expect longer. The reason Movie back-ups take so long is the decoding process time takes a while and you can expect to use 2 Discs on many unless you decode it to another formAT.
