dvd rw sound problem

hi,
i just got a mad dog dominator 6-in-1 -rw dvd writer. windows detected it as a toshiba dvd-rom sd-r5112.
i'm having some problem with sound. the image is fine but there is no sound. I connected the analog audio
output to the motherboard as given in the manual. i have dell dimension with intergrated sound and there
are two audio input 4 pin sockets. i tried both of them but still i get no sound.

what could be the problem?
