I have this DVD RW drive but it won't read some CD's. I'm talking about retail produce CD's, namely the GoBack 4.0 and Planetside Core Combat CD's. Other CD's it has read just fine, such as Battlefield Vietname Redux. Has anyone else seen this problem, or did I just get a bad one? Thanks.

Hey,

This might be due to the act that the writer does not recognize the dvd's. You might want to upgrade it's 'bios' / flash it's driver chip.

Older models often need this. See your manufactures site or google. Worked for me once.

Good luck!

He's not talking about burning and he's trying to read PRESSED CDs. And this is not really an 'older model'. How long have you had it? Has it always been bad?

It probably won't fix this problem, but you may want to flash to an upgraded firmware with better writing strategies.

NEC Firmware

I recommend the NECND352_v322.zip It will not change the name of our drive to I-O Data.
