Hey Yall, I hope this isn't a repost or something dumb like that. But I'm looking into getting a DVD-Rom here soon. I have Divix on my computer and so I don't really need one to read my movies. But I do need one in order to add more movies to my collection. I can't afford a DVD-Burner cause those are like $300+!! If I could find a good Burner for around $100 then I might consider. But I'm looking for a descent DVD-Rom for under $50 if I can. Let me know of some good brands that I can look for. Thanks.

lite-on has great DAE (digital audio extraction) and also around 10x ripping speed for dvds. can't beat it.

so Toshiba, Pioneer, and Lite-on are tops as far as DVD-ROM drives go? What about Sony? Teac? are they any good?

Do you guys like the slot-loading Pioneer better than traditional tray-loading drives?

Sure I like it cause I can mount it above my other Optical tray device with no worries of it getting in the way ;)...

One of the two is better just in case your CD breaks and shatters, but I'm not sure which one. I think it is the tray loading version.
