DVD rom won't play Diablo

It was weird. Install through the DVD rom but can't play Diablo with the same drive. However, it would run with the CDR drive. Tried everything, finally change the DVD drive now working OK. Just want to know why. The DVD rom seemed to run fine. It would run other games.

Mabey because Diablows LOL j/k. Mabey a defective dvd drive?

Certain copy protections don't like certain DVD and CD-RW drives.

I couldn't install Unreal Tournament using my laptop DVD for this reason. What I had to do finally was to network the laptop to my PC, and then install it over the network. Stooopiid. What's even dumber is the fact that I used my DVD on my PC to install it.

Try updating the firmware.... my Kenwood TrueX had the same problem, as do other drives... but once I updated the firmware it ran fine.
