DVD ROM for Radeon card???

I'm in the process of buying a new PC. I would very much like a Radeon all
in wonder video card. But from Dell's website, it looks that only some of
the DVD ROM drive can work with Radeon card. Does this mean other DVD drives
can not take advantage of the hardward iDCT of the Radeon card? Does anyone
know what kind of DVD ROM can use the hardware features of the Radeon cards?

Thanks,

bzhang

Whether or not your computer is taking advantage of the Radeon's DVD hardware is dependent on the software, not the DVD-ROM. Can anyone correct me on this?

eh...dell is just really screwy about this. my friend tried to order a computer for his sister through dell about a year ago. for some reason, they said it was incompatible for him to get a geforce video card without getting a dvd-rom. really strange if you ask me

don't listen to dell man, listen to these guys. It doesn't matter what DVD drive you get, though name brands are usually better (I bought a Delta 12x and it was really really really bad...=P)
