A couple of weeks ago, I installed a new power supply in my computer. Now, I keep getting this error, and my DVD Drive won't work.(It opens and closes, but it won't detect) I tried the old psu again and still had the same problem. I also tried a system restore. Can anyone help me? The error loads on startup, and says:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error

Runtime Error!

Program: C:\Program Files\DISC\DISCover.exe

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate itr in and unusual way. Please contact the applications's support team for more information.

What can I do? I can't find "this application's support team" anywhere on the internet, and I'm really getting frustrated.

Help would be appreciated.

You may be able to get it working by going into Device Manager and selecting PIO Mode (if it's DMA).

That's the only way I can get some DVD drives to work.

It's really odd that it started acting up after a PSU change though . . . .

Another option would be to delete it from the Device Manager and let Windows re-install it. You may still end up having to select PIO Mode though.
