DVD-ROM Drive -- digital audio?

Hello,

Looking to buy a new DVD-ROM for my system -- I will be hoking this up to my Audigy 2 ZS. I noticed that some drives have both an analog audio out *and* a digital audio out, while other drives only offer analog audio out.

Is the digital audio out a useful feature?
