DVD-ROM Doesn't Play audio track on DVD movies

DVD movies don't play sound on my computer, I tried multiple moves, and two players: windows media, and realplayer. CD's play fine, and so does the DVD video. Nothing's muted or anything.

Plays fine on my laptop.

Been like this since I upgraded with a new motherboard, a MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R, and my soundcard is a SB Audigy gamer

What is it that allows the audio track on a DVD movie to play?

in the mobo's bios make sure onboard audio is disabled..I'd do that before adding separate sound card..also you have to have an underlying codec for the audio playback(WinDVD,Cyber, etc,)
