DvD Ripping Speed

All of sudden my Dvd Ripp Speed become 2.4X
that is also my MAX burn speed too :(
I was able to rip the DvD at 10-14 X
and Burn at 4X ....... This morning I notice
It would not pass above 2.4X speed any hint ?

did you check the media you are burning on? You can only burn as fast as the Blank media allows you to...

I cannot Rip higher then 2.4X
Same DvDr use to burn 4X just fine.
I am talking Burn and Ripp speed; yes both speed

DvD Reader is JLMS XJ-HD166S DS18
DvD Writer is NEC DVD_RW ND-1300A 1.08(Hack Firm Ripp speed and RPC)
Media is RITEKG04
OS is Xp Pro SP1
Chipset is Intel P875
HDD is plug into SATA port
DVD and DVDr plugged into their IDE port (Primary and Secondry

hmm, did you install any new programs recently? try and see if a system restore does the trick...otherwise, maybe someone more experienced can help ya out.

No I didn't except few weeks ago I installed the SP2
It was doing just fine
But I have removed it the SP2

Make sure the drive isn't in PIO mode. I recently went from 2k3 to 2k and forgot to check that. Go into device manager, check the properties for the IDE channel of the DVD drive, and look on the advanced settings tab. It should say DMA when available.

My HDD is saying PIO mode (its use to say Mode 5) Its set for DMA mode if its avaiable

It was my HDD
I replace the HDD with ST3200822AS
Now its UDMA 5
and ripp speed is back to normal :)
