DVD ripping/encoding

What is an excellent program for dvd ripping? Also, what is a good format to encode the rip to for computer viewing, and what program would be good for that??

For ripping, DVD Decrypter is all you need.

As far as computer viewing, all you need is DVD software like WinDVD or PowerDVD. Both can play movies that you've ripped to the hard drive using DVD Decrypter.
