DVD Rip help

I borrowed a dvd from a friend because I wanted to copy it on my hard drive and encode to xvid. I used DVD decrypter to rip it. However, at the time I didn't know I was supposed to demux the audio. I gave the DVD back, and now all I have is the VOB files on my hard disk.

I was able to encode the video to and XviD avi, but the audio is a problem. I tried to use BeSweet to batch encode all the vob files into one mp3 file, but it generated a 6+ hour mp3! The sound in this mp3 file starts over from the beginning of the movie at about the point where the first vob file would end, so I'm thinking it's taking multiple audio streams from the vob files and sticking them all into that one mp3.

I tried the other batch option in besweet, which makes seperate mp3 files. This worked fine (and curiously did not seem to take more than one audio stream from the vob files) but now I have a seperate mp3 file for each vob. I guess I could find an mp3 joiner that would join them, but I think the joins wouldn't be perfect and I would have sync issues at the end (or would I?).

Whats the best way to make one big mp3 with the audio from the vob files?
