Basic question, what is the standard resolution of DVD video? Does it vary from disc to disc? Does cranking the screen resolution to higher then the DVD resolution help?
 
DVD is 720 x 480, It will look the same on your monitor at full screen whether its set at 800 x 600 or 1600 x 1200.
