I recently purchased the Pioneer DVR-A03 DVD burner so I could put some videos I have on DVD. I use Pinnacle studio version 7 to edit and convert the video to MPEG2 and MYDVD version 2.3 to create the DVD. The finished product runs fine on the computer, but I get shifting images when I play it on my Pioneer440 DVD player. The Pioneer440 should be able to play this disc. Is there something I'm overlooking?? Please help!

The picture seems to split whens theres fast movement in the video. Kind of like a double image at times.

When encoding to MPEG is there any option for "interlacing"? If so, do you have it turned "on"?

There is no option for interlacing in both Pinnacle studio version 7 and MYDVD by sonic. If I let MYDVD convert the AVI files to MPEG2 there is no image shifting, but the overall picture is slightly blurred or grainy. When I use Pinnacle to convert the files to MPEG2, the picture is sharp but I get shifting images.

Have you tried different brands of DVD-R discs? I know that some standalone DVD players have problems reading burned DVDs, because the reflectability is lower. It could be having problems reading the disc.

I've tried Pioneer and Memorex brand discs. I just tried making a disc using Pinnacle Express and that plays fine on my DVD player. The picture is sharp and there is no double images. I guess MYDVD has a few bugs in it. Thats too bad because I'd rather use MYDVD to create DVD discs. The menus you can create are more flexible than Pinnacle Express and for some reason Pinnacle Express only lets you put 60 minutes of video on a disc. I guess I'll keep looking for better software and wait for an upgrade for MYDVD. Thanks for the advice.
