I'm not sure if it has a built in tuner or not.

Yeah right, it's way cheaper to get a PC-DVDr and a TV tuner. And way more flexible, and faster, and more powerful, and, and, and....

Just saying, it's far more expensive for a set top and then you can _only_ record things from your TV. No flexibility.

True but they are great for their uses.
I have a DVD burner (Pioneer 4x) but still wish I could justify the cost of a set top recorder cause they're freakin cool
BTW I hear Sony is releasing set top BLU-RAY recorders in Japan soon, or they might even be out now. That's like 26 gigs per layer.
I think after the signal is decoded the PC tuner can use it. Say a satellite signal is processed by the receiver, just take the cable that would normally go the the TV and put it inside the RAM. You know what's !i Say!Originally posted by: kami

Meh, TV tuners in PCs usually suck. Plus you can only input regular old analog cable..

I was just reading about it. That thing is gonna cost $1000.00 + for that badboy in US dollars. I could not imagine spending that much on a set top dvd recorder unless I was Bill Gates.
