DVD readable vcd

How do I make a vcd that can be read in a stand alone dvd player, I know that most dvd players can read vcd's. I have made a few vcd's and they wont play in my dvd player. They play just fine using the ATI vcd player. I heard somewhere that thetype of media you use can make a differnace. Anyone have any expirence with this?

I am certainly no expert on the subject, but some dvd players won't read cdr/rw discs or are particular about them. You might need to try several brands of cd-r to find the berand that works for your dvd player.
