dvd-ram sounds pretty cool

can ne1 give me the spec.s on dvd-ram? i did a little digging and i think i have an idea of what it is but i'd like to know anything else i can about it, might think of getting 1

Maybe it should win, but I heard many say that dvd-rw is the leading format and if you look many dvd-roms state they will read dvd-rw discs but I haven't heard any state dvd-ram...seems like MACS use that format right????

This is just my opinion, but I think DVD-RAM is not going to be the format of choice in the future because it is not compatible with existing DVD-ROM and stand alone DVD players whereas the DVD-R and DVD-RW are backward compatible. The DVD-RAM I believe is available on both Macs and PCs, but the DVD-R was first introduced on Macs but companies are now making it for PC (Pioneer). Any way, my money is on DVD-RW, but we'll have to wait and see.
