My dvd burner supports a write speed of up to 4x. does this mean that i should buy 4x blank media or else i would be wasting money? also what the difference between the DVD+R and DVD-R?
 
1) Buy any speed 4X or higher but burn at 4X unless your drive handles the higher speed okay.
2) There's not a huge difference between + and -. Google if you want the technical details.
