DVD-R/RW Troubles...

I have a Benq DW1640 DVD-R/RW drive. Currently i can put a blank CD-R in the drive and write data to it, that works fine. However, when i put a blank DVD+ or -R in i can't burn anything onto it.

Any suggestions as to what i should do would be great...

Try running a DVD cleaner and see it that helps. Maybe the lense needs cleaning.

Make sure you don't have that Sony/BMG rootkit/spyware (aks DRM software) on there (happens if you play certain audio (music) CDs on there - list of affected CDs available on Sony's music site). That crap can really mess up your DVD burning.
