DVD+R drive suggestion + the whole "authoring" question.

hey all,

Well i have done my research on media type and now have Taiyo Yuden 4x dvd+r's that *should* burn at 6-8X with no problem.

Now I *thought* i was set on a drive but the more I read the more I can't decide.

Should i go with the NEC 8X dvd-burner (2500A i believe) or the Lite-on 8x dvd-burner (812s i believe)??



Also, as no one appears to know, i have multiple-cd VCD's. Can i just toss all the VCD's on one DVD and have it play properly from there?

Excuse the 'newbie' question but no - one that i've asked can give me a proper answer.

i had a 411s then it died and got a 2500a. havent used it much yet but seems like a great drive.

yea so far quiet, but i haven't tried the new firmwares
