I was wondering whats kind of lifetime does memorex or verbatim have?

I know most DVD+RW media is 100 years.

actually, im sorry to say, 15years may be stretching it. the metal oxidizes so maybe 5-10 years fro normal to lower qualioty and 15years for something like TY and 20 years for miraculously protected media.

i have some brandless media that hadnt lasted more than 1-2 years in storage.

In 20 years time DVD will be obslete
By then you would have re-archieve your 50 DVDs into may be 1 BD or nanotech disc whatever
Don't worry about that

I think the actual spec is 25 - 100 years, depending on how well the dye was made. DVD Demystified - FAQ link
