I need a spindle of 30 DVD+R DL disc to copy my DVDs. I am running the BenQ DW1640 which burns DVD+R DL @ 8x.

I haven't followed much of the DVD world, so I have no clue what kind of DVD+R DL to get.

I was taking a look at NewEgg for a pack of 25 $40 (25 wouldn't be enough), but reviews are complaining that a lot of the DVD+R DLs make quite a few coasters...

Dual Layer media is very costly. A lot of us shrink our movies.. So, you may want to look into this. I prefer -R media. You cant tell my movies have been shrunk neither.

The media your refering to is straight junk. Thats why people are making coasters with them.

This may be over your price limit, but OfficeMax has Verbatim 2.4X 10 packs for 19.99. This is the brand that I use with my HP 640c Lightscribe. I've only burned about 8, and no coasters sa far. I use them for recording long videos (both layers). Failed to mention: I use the latest version of Nero 6. Anyone tried 7.0 yet?

I recently purchase DL Memorex media, and it has some truble switching to 2nd layer so dont get those.

I have heard a few companies DVD+R DL have trouble switching, that's kind of why I am here. Some said it was due to their old burner, since I am using the BenQ 1640a burner, I might not be affected. But at the prices of the DVD+R DL media, it isn't worth the chance.

DVD+DL media is still just too expensive IMO, & has been mentioned, the coasters are abundant.

Your solution is DVD Rebuilder 0.96

Use DVD Decrypter to rip, DVD-RB with HC Encoder mode to re-encode to DVD5, & then burn with Nero.

For those of you wondering what DVD-RB is like compared to DVD Shrink... well, it's much better.
The free (yet still awesome quality) HC encoder will allow you to re-encode to 60% or lower quality without noticing the difference, something you surely cannot do with DVD Shrink.

I can't speak on how it compares to other software but I've been using Nero Recode to burn my movies. DVD Decrypter to rip, then use Recode to reduce the movie and burn. You can choose to not include the 'extras' (commercials and the like) so more often than not I barely have to lower the quality if any.

Right now I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD, can the same be done with two DVD+R media? Also, I want to burn in the best possible format, not the DVD5 one.
