dvd-r compatibility with Panasonic DVD-CV52 dvd player

Hey guys, I just bought a dvd burner and I want to know if any of you have this specific dvd player and what kind of dvd-r work well on it. Thanks.

Panasonic's Website Says yes it will work with DVD-R media.

it says it will play dvd-r using their recorder and is unsure about how it will play other dvd-r using other means. I was hoping that someone has the same player and have used certain media and they confirm it works.
