Are there any -r media out the that you can write at 8x-12x at?

All the 8x burners I've seen have 8x +r write only. So its pointless for my to upgrade my 4x when I only use -r media.

TIA

only +R tops at 12x with the newest Plextor

-R .. well .. that's up to them to play catch up.

Sounds accurate to me.

Most newer burners will burn 8X DVD-R on good 4X media such as Ritek.

Do you hear that sound? That is the sound of inevitability. 12X DVD-R is inevitable. So is 16X. It's only a matter of time. They say 16X is the theoretical maximum tho. I don't know why DVD+R seems to offer higher burning speeds before DVD-R; they just do.

thanks for the info.

I might pick one up then. All my consoles and dvd standalone players like -r media. So +r can kiss my a$$..
