My uncle came over for christmas and told me that he had got a new DVD player for his TV.
Only problem is that his TV is old and it is cable ready. It doesn't have the jacks for video/audio in/out, or SVideo.
My question is there anyway he can hook up his DVD player to his TV to watch the DVD movies?
I forgot to ask him if his VCR has the jacks. If it did would he be able to hook it up to the VCR? If not is there some kind of adapter that he can buy?
He doesn't have the money to buy a new TV, but he wants to be able to watch the DVDs that he got for the holidays.

Thanks,

Blayze

Even if the VCR does have the requisite jacks, it probably wouldn't work. The reason for that is because the movies studios are incredibly paranoid and put a copy control mechanism on DVDs called Macrovision that screws with VHS VCRs. I don't know how to bypass Macrovision, but if you're in the States, you can't because it's illegal under the Digital Milennium Copyright Act, even if all you want to do is watch DVDs using the VCR as an adaptor.

Hmmmmmmm.........thats what I thought but wasn't sure. I guess he will just have to live without DVD until he finally decides to get a new TV (this may force him to cause he really wants his DVD :))
I live in the states by the way.
