DVD Player that plays it all? (Divx, Xvid, SVCD, DVD-R, VCD, Avi etc. etc.)

As the title states... are there any DVD players or gaming consoles (modded or not) which can play virtually any media format? Divx, Xvid, DVD-R, VCD, avi, mpeg, mpg etc. etc.

I'm looking for one which can play it all. Any knowledge you care to share would be greatly appreciated.

A modded Xbox should be able to do it, an HTPC will also do it, beyond that I'm not sure there's anything that can read all the formats

I forget the name but I know maybe a year ago a company came out with a player for DivX and many other formats

Philips 642: This is the DVD player of the Gods. It's conveniently sold for $70 at Walmart. 😀 I can view on it burned CD-R's of Batman Beyond episodes that I made several years ago not knowing if I would ever use them. Well that day has now come.

You guys know if the Philips plays WMVs? I got home videos on MiniDV that I'm copying over to DVD and I want to maike sure they play on this thing... TIA.
