DVD player question

Is there any fairly cheap DVD players that play a variety of video formats? Namely Xvid? If not then I think I will purchase a used Xbox and softmod/TSOP flash. But I prefer to get something cheaper if possible.

well if it's gonna be as high or higher than $80-$100 I might aswell just go the used Xbox route. I don't know much about DVD players thats why I am asking if there is any cheaper players that reads alot of formats.

I've had my 642 for a couple years now and love it. It's played pretty much all the Divx/Xvid files I've thrown at it and it's an excellent player for around $60.

What he said. I love it. I have a modded Xbox sitting right next to it, and I use the Phillips more. Plays everything, there is nothing about it that I don't love. Wal Mart also sells these, I bought mine last Christmas for about $69.

Oh, and another cool feature. You can fill up a DVD with all the avi's you want. I have several "compilation" type DVD's like that. Grea for full seasons of TV shows or a movie and several sequels.
