DVD Player making funny sounds

My DVD player is making some clicking sounds and not reading DVD's it's almost as if it can't lift the DVD to read them? Anyone run across this and know how to fix it?

I would guess it's a worn (or broken) gear tooth. If that's the case, then no, it can't be fixed apart from replacing the gear.

It could also just be a gear or other moving part out of place or stuck. You would have to open the player to find out. How old is it? If it's under warranty, then get it repaired properly through the warranty process.
