DVD player conflict with TV Tuner?

Ever since I put a tv tuner into my computer my dvd video playback has been really messed up. I am not positive it is my tv tuner. Ive tried running different dvd software players: power dvd, wmp, winfast dvd, etc. but none of them work. Ive replaced my dvd rom with a sony 16X dvd player, but that didn't help. I tried to uninstall the tv tuner driver but it wouldn't uninstall off of my system. Any suggestions would be really helpful. If I have to choose between the two I'd rather have the tv tuner. I forgot to mention I have a Leadtek Winfast 2000 XP TV Tuner. Thanks In advance.

First of all Welcome To The Forums. Have you got all the most up to date drivers installed? Try checking out the manufacturers web page for some patches, it may be a common problem.

Thanks for the reply, I tried updating the driver but that didn't work. I messed around with the powerdvd configuration and it turns out that the video is just fine if I turn off the hardware acceleration in the power dvd configuration. What does this mean? Is there something wrong with my video card, or is everything ok?

This is a known (and old issue) with the 9700pro and PowerDVD. Did you get the patch to upgrade to Build 2417?

I've had problems with video overlay and WDM capture drivers with the 9700pro, but I've never had problems with it and PowerDVD.
