Appears to have dropped to $34.99. Here are some comments at DVDRHelp. At least one person said they got this price in-store as well.

They seem to be Out of Stock for direct shipment.

There is a "Norcent DP-302V Full-Size DVD and CD Player " at Amazon.com for $39.99 after $10 rebate with free shipping.

I'll try to make a link here: .Norcent DP-302V

This seems to be a new Norcent model for the well liked DP-300

I just ordered one. The Norcent 300 had good reviews

I've got a question for anyone else who bought it. The unit has a hard on/off switch, and you can power it down via the remote. I'm guessing that doing that, it goes into some kind of low power mode (power light stays on, but no signal coming out of it, or any sign of life). Should I be treating this like my ps2 (only turning it off via the actual power switch when I won't be using it for awhile, like a month), or turning it off all the time?

yeah it has a on/off switch which makes it kinda... weird, but you can treat it like the ps2. I just turn it off, doesnt matter, saves electricity
