DVD playback

Do movies on DVDs have native resolutions? What I mean is if you play a DVD on a high resolution monitor, would there be more pixels on the monitor than the DVD's native res, so adjacent pixels on the monitor would have to blend together to create the images?

I hope this question makes sense.

Thanks.

No. I can set my monitor (I cant but if i could) to 2048x1536 and the DVD would not look better than if i were at 12x10.
