DVD playback woes...

My T40 is great for everyday work, but I started playing some DVDs on it for fun, and the XGA screen just doesn't work very well. If I full screen the DVD, the colors are uneven from top to bottom, and if I shift my eyes even 10-15 degrees off center, the whole thing gets washed out.

I'm not sure what's going on - graphics seem more or less ok, and text is very sharp, but DVDs just completely get borked if I change my viewing angle even just a little bit.

Any ideas? I have tried adjusting the gamma, contrast, brightness, and other stuff in the ATI control panel, to no avail.

Grrr... the T40 is the best notebook design out there - why is my screen so terrible???

Well I have the SXGA on the T40 and DVD look great
however it is a very narrow viewing angle while watching a DVD.
The viewing angle seems great doing eveything else it just seems to effect the DVD playback.
I don't really knwo why.
