i know that this is maybe a litte off topic cause not fully video related, but maybe you guys can give it a shot.
i have a elitegroup k7s5a w/ lan and onboard sound. os is win2k.
i installed windvd ver 2.0. everytime now i play a dvd the video is choppy, at approx. 15 to max 20 frames a second
if i disable onboard sound, everything is ok.
i tried another driver from the ecs homepage, changed the ressources of the sound chip but the most success
was that the frame rates went up only 1 or 2 frames - still choppy....
is there a chance of working dvd playback if put in an pci soundcard and deactivate the onboard sound (although
i want to avoid that, because the computer is just used for office applications and watching dvd sometimes, so...)
rest of pc
duron 700
384mb ram
40gb ibm harddrive
lite on dvd 12/40 in ultra dma mode
ati rage 128 with 32mb ram - i know, i know
win2k with service pack2 and directx 8.0a
any suggestions?
....please excuse my bad english - i´m austrian....
