DVD Playback Not Working

I fried my DVD Decoder card, uninstalled it, and now I can't play DVDs at all on my computer. I was under the impression that I didn't need one if my video card could handle it. I have a Creative Annihilator 2 (GeForce2 32MB) video card - that should be able to work, right? I get the following message when I open up my InterActual Player now - "Playback failed due to a problem with the video subsystem. Lowering your screen resolution or color depth may fix the problem." Neither of those things work. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance...
