Alright, i have a GeForce3 ti200 with the s video out which is connected to my Panasonic vcr (model PV-7451) line 2 input. Whenever i play a divx movie for instance, and switch my device selection to output to my TV, it works fine...playback is smooth and everything works. Although when i playback a DVD, the tv gets all messed up and it doesnt play back the DVD correctly. I know that you cannot play a DVD through a VCR, but im not really playing a DVD through my vcr, all im doing is "outputting" my desktop to the tv while a DVD is playing. I have no idea how my VCR knows that im playing a dvd, the information being sent to my VCR when a DVD is playing should be the same when im playing back a DivX movie for instance shouldnt it? Are there any settings i should change so my VCR doesnt know that im playing a DVD? If i cannot play back DVD's on my tv through my computer i cant bring girls back to my dorm and watch movies with them AHHH help

One word> MACROVISION.

Modern TV recorders (VCR's, DVDR's) will not allow input from DVD sources due to macrovision (to stop 'instant' piracy) garbling the signal.

Divx's etc do NOT have copy protection of the media so your VCR will not garble the signal sent to the telly.

As your TV does not have S-video or rca inputs try here for tips on macrovision removal:

Yep, that'd be Macrovision. :(

Take a look into TVTool - if the "Disable Macrovision" bit works, then Google up some nVidia bypass "custom drivers"
