DVD picture freezes after upgrade to XP

I just upgraded to XP from 2000 and now my dvd player does work. It plays the dvd for about 5 min. then the video freezes and the audio still continues. I have a Epox 8k7a+ mobo, pioneer 106s slot load dvd, running XP pro. Could this be a driver issue with ATI and if so when will then come out with xp drivers. I have been working on this for hours and any help is appreciated.
