DVD over LAN

if i had a local area network, and a dvd player on one of the computers, how can i watch a dvd from another computer?

i just tried sharing the drive, but that didn't work too well. any ideas? software problems?

WinDVD will play some DVD's over a shared network drive, depending on the menu structure of the DVD. But you better have a fast network. I tried it on my 10 megabit network and it was not watchable.
