How do I get around this stupid thing? I have a Raite 8x 108H, I believe to be region unlocked. Trying to watch the movie w/ PowerDVD, which according to the help file is supposed to prompt me to set the region when I insert a DVD, but it doesn't. I've tried a couple utilities I found at gamecopyworld.com but still a no go. WTF? Would appreciate some guidance or links, PM me if needed...

Put in another DVD which dosen't do this additional region check and set your PowerDVD to region 1. This should allow you to play the disc.

Heh, it's Hollow Man! Jeez! And I got it figured out.. w/ DVD Genie. Well kind of anyway, now, the stupid audio mutes after about 5 minutes, pissin' me off! :(

BTW Dameon... how would you know anyway? ;):D I'd be too chickensh*t to have something like that sent to my house, nonetheless buy it in a store. Hypothetically speaking of course... ;)

I believe some new DVD's (starting with The Patriot) have Region Code Enhancement protection, which prevents you from playing them on region-free players. In the case of DVD-ROM, all you need is to switch the region code from 0 to 1 (or whatever region the disc is set in). For the audio problem, are you using a demo copy? FYI, a demo copy can't be 'modified' to run like a retail/OEM copy.
