DVD movies look noticeably poorer since I upgraded to 7900GT compared to X800XL

I didn't see much useful stuff for fixing it. ATI's control panel had a bunch of options but also just handled things much better by default.

Motion looks terrible currently. You know how in ATI's control panel you have that one screen that has a flag waving and you can choose different options, I think they're called dithering or something? Well even on default Auto mode or whatever it was called, my X800XL looked fine.

This 7900GT looks TERRIBLE and I don't see an option to fix it in the crazy Windows Explorer-like NVidia control panel thingy.

Any thoughts?

You need a deinterlacer. ATI's came with one, Nvidia's don't. (boo)

You'll need something like Purevideo Decoder. (ffdshow also helps)

Also, stick to the Classic Nvidia CP. It's much better.

BTW, it's not free but it's definitly worth it.

It should work with any program.
Check out ffdshow and media player classic.

ffdshow is a must for watching DVD's on the computer.

Media Player Classic is a good media player.

yacoub, if using PowerDVD then perhaps any CP options may be ignored or disabled and instead configured from within the player. Its decoder can still be utilized by players such as MPC.
