dvd movies and dvd player shuting off

I notice that when I have certain dvd movies in my dvd player, if it sit idle for awhile at the dvd movie menu screen that'll it shut off the dvd player. I have other movies that will just when idle at the menu, it'll just keep the dvd player on. I forget which of movies that'll shut off my dvd player, but I was watching The Untochables last night, fell asleep during it and when the movie ended. It just left my dvd player on all night long. Why cant they make all dvd movies shut off the dvd player when they sit idle for so long.
